Does FitInMySpace sell equipment directly?

No. FitInMySpace does not sell equipment. When you click an equipment link, you are taken to an Amazon search for that item. If you purchase through one of those links, we may earn a small affiliate commission at no extra cost to you.

Does FitInMySpace collect personal data?

We log anonymous page visits (page URL, country, and browser family) to understand which content is useful. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide an email to save a gym plan. We never sell data to third parties.

What is FitInMySpace?

FitInMySpace is a space-first home gym planning tool. Most equipment guides start with a wishlist and hope it fits. We start with the room you actually have -- its length, width, and ceiling height -- and work backward to the equipment that fits, matches your goals, and stays within your budget.

The idea came from a common frustration: buying a power rack only to discover it blocks the garage door, or ordering a treadmill that leaves no room to actually walk around it. We built FitInMySpace to solve that problem before you spend any money.

In addition to the interactive planner, the site publishes in-depth guides and reference pages covering equipment space requirements, head-to-head equipment comparisons, and room-specific setup guides for apartments, bedrooms, garages, and basements.

How the planner works

The planner runs entirely in your browser -- no account needed, no data sent to a server unless you choose to save your plan.

Step 1: Enter your room dimensions

Choose a preset (apartment corner, spare bedroom, single-car garage, double-car garage) or type in custom length, width, and ceiling height in feet. The planner uses these numbers to calculate usable floor area and overhead clearance.

Step 2: Select your fitness goals

Pick one or more goals: strength training, cardio, or general fitness and flexibility. The planner uses your goals to filter the equipment catalogue so you only see relevant items.

Step 3: Set your budget

Select a budget tier from under $300 up to $3,000 or more. The planner selects an optimal set of equipment whose combined estimated cost stays within your chosen range.

Step 4: Get your layout

The planner runs a packing algorithm that places the largest items first, working from the back wall forward, ensuring minimum clearance on all active sides. It then renders a top-down diagram showing each piece of equipment as a labelled rectangle inside your room outline. Below the diagram, you see a full equipment list with estimated prices and links to search for each item on Amazon.

You can optionally save your plan for later or email it to yourself. Saved plans are stored securely and can be retrieved at any time using your unique plan link.

Anonymous visit logging: We record page views with the page URL, country (derived from your IP address but the address itself is not stored), and browser family (e.g. Chrome, Firefox). This helps us understand which content is most useful.

Optional email: If you choose to email yourself a gym plan, we store your email address solely to deliver that plan. We do not add you to any mailing list.
